Vogelwiese again

Franz went to the Oktoberfest tent in the bird meadow. Because he likes to hoist one. 
Blow musik, dance... he's lived a lot.
The beer was nice and cool, therefore he drank too much.
Early in the day he was so fresh. By evening he was under the table.

Auf die Vogelwiese ging der Franz, 
weil er gern eine hebt. 
Und bei Blasmusik und Tanz hat er so viel erlebt. 
Das Bier im Zelt war gut und herrlich kühl, 
darum trank der Franz viel zu viel. 
Früh am Tag war er so frisch, doch abends lag er unterm Tisch.

Počápelská Polka, aka Cecilka Polka, aka Auf der Vogelwiese

This is one of my favorites in the Blasmusik genre.

Once again, it turns out that what I had thought of as a German tune turns out to be originally Czech. The composer is Josef Poncar, 1902-1986.
